Taking an immune system supplement daily is very important. However most of us don’t do it until we get sick or don’t feel good. It normally takes getting sick or achy before we launch into our get well mode. Generally we resort to medicines, OTC pharmaceuticals, herbs, and other products to treat our symptoms. The problem with that is none of those things deal with the real problem as an immune system supplement does.

To make matters more difficult most of us don’t take the proper steps to prevent future immune related problems to rise again. Our body’s best defense in keeping us well is our immune system.

We are attacked everyday from by the accumulated effects of relentless attacks we incur from pollution, stress, poor diet, lack of sleep, viruses, bacteria, fungi, and other invaders.

A key to staying healthy and strong is for our immune system to be able to effectively produce the immune co-factors and antibodies that fight the effects of viruses, bacteria, fungi, and other undesirable invaders of our bodies.

The immune system needs balance. That’s to say not being over or under active. So boosting the system is not normally what is needed. Over activity can lead to allergies and autoimmunity conditions.

Tip! Tea. Regularly drinking tea throughout the day can help strengthen your immune system and your body’s ability to fight off germs and infections.

Autoimmune disorders include arthritis, multiple sclerosis-(which my wife died from) insulin-dependent diabetes, fibromyalgia, inflammatory bowel diseases, etc. An under-active immune system leaves the body open to infection and disease.

Our current day environment contributes to the weakening of our body systems as well. Active and stressfull lifestyles, smoking, little exercise, pollution (look outdoors), poor nutrition along with the systemic affects of aging don’t help us either.

Tip! Eat an adequate amount of calories. The immune system must have an ample amount of calories.

So, to keep the immune system strong and healthy as possible you should seriously consider using an all natural immune system supplement.

Vitamin for Boosting your Immune System

Turmeric, in all honesty is not a vitamin, but it can certainly help to boost your immune system. Of course Turmeric is a herb and in recent years has become quite popular in the Spice Rack of modern day kitchens.

The proper name for Turmeric is Zingiberaceae; it is a member of the Ginger family and is also known as Curcuma.

It has not been very widely researched in humans, however animal research has been conducted for many years and they have shown this herb to have a number of beneficial medical properties, such as an immune stimulant, a helpful treatment for arthritis, also may help in the prevention of some forms of cancer, heart disease, liver problems and the prevention of cataracts.

Most of the research that has been done into the benefits of Turmeric has been done in India, because the scientists in the west had never shown much interest in the herb, until more recent times, this research has shown that it can help in the prevention of the following illnesses, Wounds, it does have some antibacterial properties, it has been effective against some strains of Salmonella, which causes food poisoning, it does have anti inflammatory effects which has helped with the pain associated with arthritis and because it contains antioxidants, it can help in the prevention of cancer and cataracts.

Tip! Positive Thinking. Optimism can counteract the negative impact stress, tension and anxiety has on your immune system and well-being.

Turmeric, as I have said is part of the Ginger family, which does help to lower cholesterol and blood pressure, studies with animals have shown Turmeric to have similar qualities.

Turmeric is listed as generally safe, and it should only be taken as medicine after consultation with a physician, because of its blood thinning qualities, it should not be taken with other types of blood thinning medications like Vitamin E or any prescribed anticoagulant.

It will not do any harm taken in small amounts such as you would put in curries or other savoury dishes, Large amounts taken could give stomach upsets. Normal small amounts would be excellent for health, but take caution and qualified advice for larger medicinal quantities.

Tip! Those long-term chronic stressors are the killer stressors, and reduce and gradually destroy the effectiveness of our immune systems.
